Chopping Off My Hair

To start, I know I haven’t been posting nearly as much as I would like to. I’ve been so busy with the end of the school year quickly approaching, and blogging has kind of fallen through the cracks. But not to fear, because I’m back! Not only have I returned, I also have a bit of news: I cut off ten inches of my hair this past week to donate to Locks of Love. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, but my hair was never long enough. For most of my life, I kept (or was forced to keep) my hair short out of simplicity ad/or my mom’s commands. I wanted to have long hair just to see what it felt like, but after a while, it just wasn’t fun anymore. I got frustrated with it more times than not, the weather was heating up, and I couldn’t wear it in a ponytail because of all the weight (#thickhairprobs). I kept it long for prom, but the week after, I made a hair appointment and cut it all off. I was nervous at first, but as soon as I saw and felt my short hair, I was in love. It’s cut bluntly at the ends, so my flat iron has become my best friend. But so far, the pros outweigh the cons. If you’re itching to do something with your hair, here’s a list of reasons I love mine:

  • I made it my #TransformationTuesday on Instagram and got a ton of likes
  • Showers take significantly less time
  • Blowdrying takes about 5 minutes
  • Ponytails don’t hurt my head anymore
  • I got so many compliments
  • My hair doesn’t get caught in my car door anymore
  • Someone else is going to get to enjoy my hair way more than I ever did

Even if you don’t donate your hair, it still feels great to freshen up how you look and to get ready for summer. Have you ever donated or thought about donating your hair?
